Built by late Kalyanchand Hirachand Seth in the 20th Century, he was the Nagar Seth or the town chief who would be approached by the local community for important decisions, problem solving, community welfare, granting loans etc. Kalyanchand Hirachand was one the richest and biggest local employers in Mozambique and offered employment to several weavers and tailors in his firm Arimdlal Tricamji & Company and another company of Lallddas Kisordas, a Vaniya trader from Diu.
